| Getting There |
Take State Highway 26 east out of Idaho Falls. Follow the Heise sign left after about 12 miles. Stay on that road and keep right as it winds its way back east. You will eventually see Heise hot springs resort and golf club on the right side of the road and the last sign of civilization is the ski hill where the road turns to dirt. Maybe a mile past that is a parking area that are the trail head coordinates noted above. From here you can either go up the mountain where there are a lot of trails for your 4x4, four wheeler, motorcycle, bicycle or hiking. Almost all of the snow is gone by the end of May. |

| Difficulty |
Easy for high clearance vehicles. Deep ruts may prevent cars. |

| Comments |
The Heise area is a great place to take the family on a sunday drive or for overnight camping. It is relatively close to Idaho Falls and the surrounding small towns.
